The Suwannee River rises in south Georgia’s Okeefenokee Swamp and flows south more than 206 miles through Florida farmland and conservation areas.
The river is fed along its route by many fresh water springs. Its mouth is near the fishing village of Suwannee at the Gulf of Mexico.
