Port St. Lucie started as a lot sales development in the late 1950s. It has grown to a population of 215,000, and is now Florida’s seventh largest city.
Old timers remember when it was nearly 40,000 acres of wilderness and cattle grazing land. For $10 down and $10 month, the lots sold like hotcakes.
