Mandarin is on State Road 13 on the south side of Jacksonville. It is famous as the Florida home of Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin".
You still get a sense of its history and tranquility once you get off busy State Road 13 and take a drive along the road that parallels the St Johns River.
