Leu Gardens in Orlando is named for Harry P. Leu, an Orlando businessman whose estate it was from 1936 until he donated it to the City of Orlando in 1961. He and his wife traveled the world to collect exotic plants and created beautiful landscaped gardens on their estate.
The semi-tropical and tropical gardens contain nearly 50 acres of landscaped grounds and lakes, with trails shaded by 200-year-old oaks and forests of camellias. Areas of the garden have been designated a Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. They are open to the public.
