Indiantown is one of the newest villages in Florida, being established in 2017. It has a population of about 7,000 and is 24 miles southwest of Stuart and 14 miles east of Lake Okeechobee's Port Mayaca.
Its status as a village is new, but the Indiantown community has been there for many years. It is on the St. Lucie Canal, one of the main links of the Okeechobee Waterway that connects Florida’s east and west coasts.
