Horseshoe Beach has a population of 169 and was first settled in the 1800s by a lumbering company. It is located on the Big Bend coast between Steinhatchee and Cedar Key.
When the lumber was gone, a few workers stayed on and made it their home. Today most residents are either retired or work in the local fishing business. The town has a large full service marina with vacation rentals and RV sites.
