Some trailer renters got together back in 1963 and bought the trailer park they were living in. They paid from $2,000 to $2,500 per lot, and incorporated the park as a town in 1963. It is on the Atlantic Ocean.
It’s a great little town, but it almost disappeared in 2005 when a developer offered to buy the entire town for $510 million. This would have resulted in each lot going for a bit more than one million, but the deal fell through.
