Patrick Smith wrote the historical novel “A Land Remembered.” In my opinion, this is an essential and entertaining book to help you learn about Florida the way it was in pioneer times.

It tells the story of three generations of a family who came down into the wilderness that was Florida in 1868 and their lives over the following century. I am one of many Floridians who have read the book more than once.
